International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

On November 25, 1960, the sisters dominicanas, Patria, Minerva and Maria Teresa, they fought against the dictatorship of their country, were persecuted, arrested and tortured several times, and on this day were brutally murdered.

In 1999, the UN officially is day as the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”, with the aim of encouraging governments and civil society to fight for women’s rights by encouraging the complaint, and by the end of this crime.
