December 10: Human Rights Day

On December 10, 1948 was signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), two years later was declared a World Human Rights Day.

It was from this time that the civil, political, economic, social and cultural core, to which every human being has the right, were listed. Today, the UDHR is widely accepted as the fundamental tool of human rights that everyone should protect and respect.

In 2014 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will make 66 years and to celebrate the date, the United Nations have chosen as their protection during the 365 days of the year.

“Human Rights 365”  aims to stress that “every day is day of human rights,” explained the United Nations. “Each of us, wherever you are, at any time, be entitled to the full range of human rights,” reads the official website of the organization.
