March 22, World Water Day

In water crisis times, we realize the size of the importance of water in our lives and why we should preserve this heritage.

On March 22, 1993, during the debate of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, Eco-92 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the United Nations recommended that this day was dedicated to talk about the importance of water for human and the planet earth.

Aware of the problem of contamination of our sources (rivers, lakes and reservoirs), the waste of drinking water and worried about a future where water is missing, the UN presented the “Universal Declaration of Water Rights.” This document presents a series of measures, suggestions and information in order to raise ecological awareness of the public and governments to the issue of water.

Water and Sustainable Development ‘is the theme of the global campaign for the 2015 water.
