A two-day workshop in Valledupar, Cesar, brought together 30 traditional midwives from various ethnicities and regions of Colombia, along with community workers and healthcare personnel, to enhance maternal care in remote rural communities. The event, held on July 23-24, 2024, aimed to train facilitators to share the knowledge within their communities, helping to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality in areas with limited access to healthcare services.
